Cimory Won the 2024 Indonesia Women’s Empowerment Principles Awards for Efforts in Reducing Gender Gaps in Business 18 Nov 2024

JAKARTA, 29 Oktober 2024 – PT Cisarua Mountain Dairy Tbk (Cimory) has been awarded 1st runner-up in the Gender-Responsive Workplace category at the 2024 Indonesia Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards. The award was presented directly by the UN Women Indonesia to Mr. Bharat Joshi, Chief Financial Officer & Investor Relations of Cimory, during the Indonesia WEPs Awards Ceremony held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta.

This award recognizes Cimory's commitment to promoting women's empowerment and creating sustainable social impact. As a socially responsible company, Cimory continuously strives to enhance the inclusivity of women within the Company’s business processes. One of the Company’s initiatives is the Miss Cimory program, which aims to empower women and provide them with opportunities for meaningful contribution.

Launched in 2013 with just three agents, the Miss Cimory program has grown into the Company’s exclusive distribution channel, empowering over 5,500 low-to-middle-income women in Indonesia.The 2024 Indonesia WEPs Awards is organized by the United Nations Entity for gender equality and the empowerment of women (UN Women), with support from the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and the European Union. The WEPs Awards recognize companies promoting gender equality across seven categories:

Commitment and Leadership Action, Gender-Inclusive Workplace, Gender-Responsive Marketplace, Community Engagement and Partnership Collaboration, Transparency and Reporting, Innovative Financing, and SME (Small Medium Enterprise) Champion.

The Gender-Responsive Marketplace category from the WEPs Awards acknowledges companies that apply a gender lens throughout their value chain, from the procurement of raw materials to the final processes. This includes championing supplier diversity, inclusive gender distribution and sales, as well as gender-responsive marketing and advertising. It may also encompass support for female entrepreneurs through capacity building or market access opportunities, as well as the implementation of progressive programs or policies to include women-owned businesses or gender-responsive companies in procurement processes. This category also honors efforts and programs that advance gender equality and women's empowerment in corporate advertising and other sales and marketing activities.

Cimory is also proud to announce that the Company is officialy a part of the Global WEPs Signatories. This commitment underscores the Company’s dedication to advancing gender equality and empowering women across the workplace, marketplace, and in communities.

WEPs is a collaborative initiative between the UN Women and the UN Global Compact aimed at empowering women to participate fully in the economy across various sectors. WEPs comprises seven principles that guide companies in achieving gender equality in the workplace, marketplace, and community. To date, there are over 10,000 companies worldwide that have signed the WEPs, including 199 companies from Indonesia.
